wrong spelling

cool but it's spelled stereo-optic, not scopic

ArtBIT responds:

Nope, it's spelled correctly:

Definitions of stereoscopic on the Web:
-two photographs taken with a stereoscopic camera. One photograph represents the left eye, and the other the right eye. When the two photographs are viewed in a stereoscopic apparatus, they combine to create a single image with depth and relief.

Cheers...

Wow

This is great! How the hell didn't this get an award?!

The-EXP responds:

hmm, didnt get one i'm afraid..shame that..maybe i could just have an award form you... horray i won the JeremysFilms award..

Over-rated

Terribly over-rated and highly unprofessional. Also, this idea has been made many times before in the past (including by myself) and I can see this definitly needs work.

Moosh responds:

I hope that you don't think that I stole the idea from somewhere because this just all of a sudden popped in my head at the end of school... But anyways, I will be working on this later and adding a few thing. Maybe it'll seem more original to you.

Decent.

Decent tutorial. Please remember, for unfinished flash's (alphas) put it in the Alphas section in the NG Mag.

I gave you a 6 for humor becuase I found it funny that you put those operators in the Math section. The + - / * are the only things that are Math (arithmetic). But the others are actually logic, except for the = operator. The = operator is assignment. Then rest are logic, == tests if its equal to, < and > test if it's greater than/less than. And the ! tests if it's NOT equal to something, although usually you'd use != or !==.

Well asside from my lecture nice job! Especially with organization, everything went back to the correct spots and it wasn't buggy like ost tuts I've seen. I also loved how you actually explained each code rather than just saying "C0pY nDAd Psate tis cdoe!!" like most tutorials that are rushed to simply stay on NG. I can tell that you didn't rush it (hopefully I'm right), so I think this is a pretty good tutorial for beginners.
Nice job, JeremysFilms

SpamBurgeralt responds:

Yea, the logic symbols just seem to fit under math the most becuase I didnt want to make a whole new topic. Also, thanks for saying it was heloful! ;-)

Cool

It's cool. But it needs a Save feature. I don't see why it asks for your name, if there's no SharedObject to save with!!!

DJStatika responds:

There is no save feature because there are only 8 tracks!

On the official site, it saves the fastest race times, so that other people can race against them. You enter your name so that people know who has the best times

It's great.... Until.....

When I first watched it, it was AMAZING, I thought that it was a chat room!! But once you are there for a while, you realize that it's not a real chat room. But instead a fake one. It has a bunch of random comments and randomly picks them for random people to say.

This isn't good. You should have made something that actually is a real chat.

liam0 responds:

Yes but that would be boring, this is fun because people actually believe it's a real chatroom.. heh :P

Cool!

Cool tutorial!! Although you should add a few more things, but it's fine as it is!! Nice job!!!

Ps. Where'd you get the music from?? PLEASE TELL ME!!!

Ryan094 responds:

I got the music from audio portal. Its called eclipse. search it.

FANTASTIC!

Denvish, you are one of the most inspiring ActionScripters, I have ever met. You are TRULY AMAZING. You created an AMAZING game using ONLY ACTIONSCRIPT. The game is VERY ADDICTING and I have no idea why someone wouldn't like it. You did a GREAT job on looping the sounds to make music. The music really seems as if it were a complete song, but instead it's countless loops of sounds that are under a millisecond long. You even put a highscore table in, and it's all perfectly even. THat's AMAZING. I used your tutorial on how to make an ASP highscore table, and it's HARD. But you made it all COMPLETELY with ActionScript. That's a hugely impressive thing. This game definitly deserves front page, and I have no idea why people wouldn't like it.

Maybe if you would have said in the description that it was completely made through API, people would understand how good it really is.

Well I'm done talking, but again GREAT JOB Denvish, you are a great inspiration to me.

Denvish responds:

Thanks =) I appreciate the comments. You should probably find yourself a mentor who isn't a twat, though...

Not good

Tsk, Tsk, Tsk. Never make a tutorial, when you don't know the stuff yourself. Never give ActionScript codes in a tutorial, if your not going to explain what each part of it does.

You just gave a code not at all telling how it works. How do you expect people to learn them without an understanding?

Also, with the quality buttons. You don't use label a button "Best" if it's high quality, since there's another quality above High, called: "Best". Although it's only available if you use the ActionScript to turn it on. So you'd have 4 buttons, and there should be best, and high.

When you had the code to move a MC via the arrow keys. You should ALWAYS explain a long code like that, if you've memorized that code, then that's good for you. But, even though I have learned it, you should always explain something long like that.

A tutorial is something that should "TUTOR" you, not just give you a bunch of stuff to memorize, or copy/paste.

carsonauto responds:

Well, ive found that tutorials that explain the script, can sometimes/usually confuse you. I tried to make this a good reference, something people would bookmarl for reference.

GREAT!

I love the preloader!

mr-frog responds:

Thanks
