Dude Newgrounds isn't like this anymore. It went from being a vulgar immature site to being about impressive works and a community of flash artists.

I think that, because the culture of newgrounds has changed, so has the expectations of its artists, especially that of admins.

Although I like that you are trying to bring back what was so great and funny about the old newgrounds, it's a totally different community now. Although if you submitted this a few years ago it would have been appropriate for the times...newgrounds has now become a learning place and community of hobbyists and so it is in fact insulting that a major representative of the site would submit this.

I respect the humor, but I just don't find it appropriate of today's standards for this website.

Please remember that people look up to you and that you represent newgrounds. By submitting something like this, knowing that it would be well recognized and get a decent score merely because you are well-known and help run the site is just as insulting as I bet many people would feel if Adam Phillips intentionally submitted garbage.

Again, it is not that I don't understand the humor to this, it is just that it doesn't fit into the newgrounds culture anymore.

Nice effort though to bring back the old funnys :P

Come on now newgrounds... not that I don't appreciate all of his work, but come on.. Just because the graphics are perfect doesn't mean that this short toon is worthy of being the highest rated submission on the site. As soon as people see adam phillips they immediately vote 5.

I love his stuff but don't you think this is a little ridiculous?

"Corny"

Come on now, that was corny as hell! I realize a lot of time went into it but it's sooo corny. The voices are overdone and with random portraits that are supposed to be symbolic and lines like "when I grow up I want to be just like you", there's just no way this can be watched seriously.

Maybe back in the 50's this movie could have been realistic, but let's be real here... people haven't talked or acted that way in years. The movie would have been alright and touching if it hadn't reused cinematic techniques that've been used for years.

Good attempt though, don't take me too insulting because I still respect the effort, I'm just being harsh so your next one turns out right =]

it was pretty funny but i wish it was longer. put more time into your flash movies, stop rushing them out... and by the way, it was never the graphics that made the awesome parodies so funny.. in fact bad art helped it become funnier.
